Once upon a time there was a big King. He had a big palace, a lot of solders, a lot of carriages and lots of thing. He also had an elephant.
How tall do you think the elephant was? It was a big elephant.
Every single day, the kings servant used to give the elephant a bath. Then they would cook a lot of food. How much rice can an elephant eat?
So they would cook a BIG bucket of rice and feed the elephant.
Then the elephant would take the king for ride around the city.
There was a little dog who lived near the elephants stable. He was a poor dog and did not get much food to eat. So he was very thin. One day, he somehow got into the elephant's stable. There was some left over food in the elephants tray. The elephant had eaten his dinner and stopped when his stomach got full. The dog ate some of the left -over food. After that day he would come and eat the left over food in the elephant stall every single day. Everyday the dog and elephant would talk together and they became good friends. If the dog was late one day the elephant would say - "Hey, why were you late? I was waiting for you , my friend". If the elephant looked sad some day, the dog would say "Mr. Elephant, why are you sad? Are you tired? I hope you feel better tomorrow".
The dog ate well and became stronger and healthy and got a lovely shiny coat.
One day a traveler came to the city and he saw the beautiful happy dog. "Oh - I would like to have the happy dog in my house". The stranger who took the dog far far away to a different town.
Why was the dog such a happy dog? Because his friend the elephant friend was near him. What happened when the dog went away from the elephant? He felt sad.
What do you think happened to the elephant? The elephant was sad because he missed his dog friend. He would not eat or play and he looked very sad all the time. The king saw how the elephant was sad and asked his minister. The minister said , 'The elephant is not sick. His body is fine. Maybe he is sad.' Then he asked the man who took care of the elephant. The elephant man said 'Yes, I remember there was a little dog, but he does not come here any more. The stranger took him away'. So the minister went to the stranger's house. What did he see there? He saw the dog, but it was a sad dog now! So he brought the dog home to the elephant. They were so happy to see other again!
What is the kings job? To keep everybody in his town happy, animals and people happy. So he made a rule that the dog and the elephant should never be separated from each other. And the dog and the elephant were happy ever after.
