This craft is for illustrating the story of Kanaka. In the story, Kanaka prays behind the temple. So Krishna turns backwards towards him. A hole (kindi) opens at the back of the temple so that Kanaka can see Krishna's image. So in this construction, Krishna peeps out of the back of the temple.

1. Click on the images below to get the templates. Print to fit a 8 X 11 page to get the right size.
2. Cut the temple front and Krishna picture. Cut out two pieces of the pale blue construction paper to form the temple background. In Piece A (only), cut a 'door' using the Exacto knife.
2. Paste the temple front on the Piece B (uncut) blue construction paper piece. Color/decorate it as desired.
3. Color/decorate the Krishna picture. Place the Krishna picture on the other side of Piece B.
3. Place the Piece A construction paper with the cut door over the Krishna such that the Piece A and Piece B overlap exactly. Position the Krishna picture so that it is seen if the 'door' is opened.
4. Paste the Krishna picture in place in Piece B. Paste Piece A over it.
